How to Decorate Your Home with Calligraphy
I love the idea of living in a space that makes me feel comfortable and cozy while also having a personalized vibe that people just know it’s my own home the minute they walk in. Kind of how when you see a shirt in a store and you just know it would be perfect for your best friend, that is how I want my home to feel when people walk in. A big way that I try to achieve that is with calligraphy and typography throughout my home. It is a big part of my business but also a big part of my daily life. It inspires me and really gives a custom feel to my home through the wall art, tea towels, coffee mugs, and more and I would love to help you decorate you home!
Luckily there are so many ways for you to be able to decorate your home in a unique and personalized way. Considering the selection of cute items at Target or the fun boutique shops in trendy neighborhoods or the variety of customizable items online at creative markets like Etsy! So if you are in the same boat and want to work on decorating your home with calligraphy and hand lettered pieces then here are a few of best resources I’ve used that you can also use to find the perfect item!
Wall Art
Etsy: Best for personalized, one of a kind pieces. Plus it’s always great to support small businesses.
World Market: Unique & fun pieces. Bonus, they do have calligraphy on more than just wall art here, like fun doormats!
Home Goods
Roostery & Spoonflower: I originally found Spoonflower as a resource to create custom fabric and print unique tea towels, but since then I have found it to be so much more and have found Roostery through Spoonflower. Roostery is now my go to shop for calendar tea towels. Be sure to check out all the other fun things they have like table runners & pillow cases & more!
Anthropologie: I love the style and vibe from pretty much anything in the home shop at Anthropologie and would probably furnish my whole kitchen and more with all of their wonderful things if I could. And I especially love when I find pieces that have calligraphy or typography incorporated, it’s a win-win!
Books
Amazon: I love when my bookshelves have a fun assortment of books with unique typography on them especially on the spine! Also a few great coffee books are the perfect way to add some flair & decoration to your coffee table.
DIY
Another way to really create a customized home and find new ways of how to decorate your home is on Pinterest! There are so many DIY tutorials on there and it pretty much covers any type of home project. I use Pinterest to find so many ideas and to also share a lot of good stuff especially on my home and crafty boards. Be sure to check them out and follow for more inspiration!
