Joyful Week no. 17
It’s time for another Joyful Week here at Proof & Parchment! This past week was so fun with going out to eat a few times with visitors in Budapest plus stumbling upon the most perfect paper shop here with calligraphy supplies. And I’m talking about kombucha again but with a yummy flavor twist: watermelon kombucha! Enjoy and be sure to let me know what brought you joy lately.
Calligraphy Supplies
I love all of my art and design tools but I especially love love love my calligraphy supplies. Which is why I was so happy just the other day when I stumbled upon the cutest little paper store with fun calligraphy supplies. I’ve walked by the shop quite a few times without ever stopping in and I have no idea why, but I’m so glad I finally did! Besides all of the beautiful notebooks, folders, and cards they have a cute little calligraphy section! They have so many fun looking inks, a ton of patterned pen holders (that I now need!) and lots of nibs to try out! I have a feeling I will be stopping by here regularly. If you’re ever in Budapest be sure to check out Bomo Art.
Yellow Watermelon Kombucha
I know I’ve mentioned kombucha before, but I really love it and have really been enjoying making it on my own and experimenting with different flavors. I knew I wanted to make watermelon as soon as they were in season so I finally bought a mini watermelon the other day to use since my kombucha was fermented and ready for flavoring during the second ferment. However I was super surprised when I cut open my watermelon to see it was yellow! Luckily it still tastes amazing (maybe a little honey like sweetness?) and it was perfect in my kombucha. I think this is my favorite flavor yet, especially with a little cayenne to spice it up! I’m already excited to make another batch of watermelon kombucha.
Mac & Cheese Love
Give me a bowl of super cheesy pasta and I’m one happy person! Which is great since I found the best mac & cheese in Budapest last summer at Bestia. I ended up back at Bestia with a group over the weekend and just had to indulge with the mac & cheese again and it was every bit as good as I remember! I think having this mac & cheese only once a year is not enough and need to find an excuse to go back to Bestia very soon! Or maybe try to recreate this masterpiece at home.
